An estate pipe is just another way of saying “used pipe”.  It is previously used because it generally comes from an “estate”.  All pipes here are estate pipes that have cleaned and sanitized and are ready to smoke.

Estate pipes offer the chance to grab a higher-end pipe or a vintage pipe with really old quality briar at an affordable price.

Briar, or “briar wood”, is the wood from the “tree heath” plant (Erica arborea) that grows as a shrub around the Mediterranean area. The wood is known for its qualities in hardness and high resistance to heat. And for those reasons, briar makes an excellent material for a smoking pipe. Pipes are made from the underground burl of the tree heath and not the above ground branches.
